ARCADIA aims at contributing to the development of a professional community in the area of cooperation and international development. The Annual Conferences represent one of the central events where the members and a larger audience come together in order to engage in a productive debate on the relevant topics of the day.
We envisage these annual events as professional conferences where academics can present their work and receive feedback; where policy-makers, can engage in debates about their area of expertise without the straight-jacket of their official positions; where practitioners from NGOs, research centers or public institutions can interact and produce new ideas and best practices; where journalists can become informed and inspired for informing the broader public; where debates on relevant issues for policy, academic disciplines, institutional engagements are hotly and constructively debated and where all the participants can improve their network.
